With over 6 kilos of hashish a 70-year-old man was arrested in Xirokambi Leikon in Kalamata by police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Kalamata Security Sub-Directorate.

The 70-year-old was arrested for violation of drug and antiquities laws and cultural heritage in general.

Taking advantage of information, the police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution and in the context of an organized police operation, conducted an investigation on the 70-year-old’s farm, where in a specially designed and cleared area he cultivated two cannabis seedlings, up to 2.5 meters high, which were uprooted.

In addition, inside the farm were found and seized:

-Three harvested hemp seedlings, up to 2 meters tall

-Quantities of hemp (tassels-strands), total weight 6,700 grams. The 700 grams of leaves and branches were found in one place, while under an olive tree, and on top of a green net, the police found 6 kilograms of hashish spread out

-One, and a handsaw.

The 70-year-old was taken to the criminal prosecutor of Kalamata, while the police estimate that he would have earned 20-25,000 euros from drug trafficking.
