Archbishop of Crete Eugenios: The work of “Apostoli” honors the Church

By Archbishop of Crete Mr. Eugene met this morning the general director of the charity of the First Archdiocese of Athens “Apostoli”, Mr. Kon. Dimtsa.

During the meeting, the director general had the opportunity to present to His Holiness the work being carried out in various fields of action (e.g. health, nutrition, education, training, old age and chronic diseases, response to humanitarian crises and emergencies, integration of refugees and immigrants etc.).

“The ‘Mission’ is at her disposal Church of Crete so that with the know-how and experience he has accumulated he can contribute effectively to
work of the Cretan Church for the benefit of all those who are in need of help and support in the current difficult circumstances”, underlined Mr. Dimtsas.

“Apostoli” already implements mental health programs in Crete (Mental Health Day Centers in Ierapetra and Neapoli Lasithi), while it can contribute
in the development of new programs and actions in areas of interest for the local church and society.

For his part, the Most Reverend Archbishop of Crete Mr. Eugenios expressed his admiration and appreciation for what is being implemented – under the inspiration and guidance of His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece K.K. Hieronymus II – multifaceted work of the “Apostoli”, which honors the Christian witness and social contribution of the Orthodox Church in our time, highlighting It as a pioneer in Greece, he warmly thanked the “Apostoli” for its help to date in various cases of need , while underlining the readiness of the Church of Crete to explore the perspectives of cooperation between its agencies and the “Apostoli” in areas of common interest, using the latter’s multi-year and multi-level know-how and experience both in the implementation of programs and actions and in the creation of social welfare structures.
