Archbishop Hieronymos at Areio Pago for the new judicial year

His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece Mr. Hieronymos officiated today at the consecration held at Areo Pago on the occasion of the start of the new judicial year.

Present were the Minister and the Deputy Minister of JusticeKonstantinos Tsiaras and George Kotsiras, respectively.

The Archbishop wished the president of the Supreme CourtMaria Georgiouto the prosecutor of the Supreme Court Isidore Doyako, and to all the top prosecutors and judges, a peaceful and fruitful judicial period and added that with a peaceful disposition to face the difficulties.

For her part, the President of the Supreme Court, Maria Georgiou, after thanking the Archbishop for his presence there, indicated that instead of a ceremonial gift, she would symbolically pay a sum of money to the Philoptocho Solidarity Fund of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens. Mr. Dogiakos, in turn, mentioned that the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court will symbolically deposit a sum of money.

The Archbishop donated to the court an image of the Apostle Paul depicting him on the Pnyka podium.
