Heraklion: A swarm of wasps attacked a professor – he is hospitalized out of danger

An unprecedented incident took place on Wednesday at the Standard High School of Heraklion, which almost cost the life of a school teacher who was attacked by wasps.

As the school informs, a swarm of wasps was found in the parking lot behind the unit. In fact, a teacher was hospitalized after receiving multiple bites.

According to the same information, the school took immediate action by contacting all the agencies involved, Cleaning and Greening Services of the Municipality, Department of Civil Protection, Fire Department, Forest Service, without anyone being able to provide a solution or take responsibility for it. Finally, and with the agreement of the Municipality’s services, a private extermination team was hired, which has already neutralized half the swarm and is continuing the required actions tonight.

At the same time, the school draws great attention while at the same time sending instructions so that no one else is in danger.

“CAUTION! In the next two days, Thursday and Friday, we must all stay at a distance from this outside area, so that we do not
endanger anyone else. DO NOT park near the bins, only use the Middle School entrance at the back of the school
and not of the high school”, he says in a related announcement shared on the school’s Facebook page.
