Left to their own devices, and in the gears of the bureaucracy are six dogs in the Hortiati, Thessaloniki after the death of their guardian, as reported by the animal welfare organization Stray Planet.

It’s been a month since the man who took care of them passed away, the animals were starving. Residents appealed to the Municipality of Pylaia Hortiatis, which, as they said, promised to take care of them, but without doing anything substantial.

Members of the animal welfare last Saturday in the remote plot, and the first two dogs found were clearly in poor condition and hungry. However, despite the approval of the deceased’s brother the animals must be removed only from the municipal authority, which is inactive for the time being.

“These are six dogs, three puppies, and two females that have given birth,” Eleni Grammatopoulou from the animal welfare organization told SKAI.gr.

Mrs. Grammatopoulou is simply asking for a document from the Municipality that will give her the right to take over the animals and take care of them. “I can already give a dog for adoption,” he emphasizes.

“I want to be legal, I could take the animals and leave,” he clarifies.

As it is emphasized, the Municipality must carry out a procedure to take over the animals for 2-3 months with a promotion for adoption and then reintegration, in which case the animal lover and any sensitized person has no right to intervene, while the brother of the deceased must first do acceptance of inheritance!
