The climate relay passed through Domoko, Lamia and Antheli Running out of time – The next stations before Athens

Domokos, Lamia and Antheli were the three current stations for its cyclists and runners world relay Running out of time, which as is known started from Glasgow, Scotland on September 30th and is heading to Egypt via Cyprus and Israel, with the aim of delivering the baton and together with the message for the necessity of universal quality environmental education for all at the UN climate change conference COP27 which will take place between November 6 and 18.

At 3.30 in the morning the runners reached Domokos where they were welcomed by local actors declaring their support for the project. At 10.30 in the morning in the central square of Lamia, they were welcomed by the municipal authority, conveying the city’s message to this project. In the central square of Lamia, the cyclists and runners stayed for about an hour before continuing their journey to Athens with the next stop at Antili, Kamena Vourla, Agios Konstantinos, to pass after Akraifnio and Aliarto.

It is characteristic that in the square of Lamia the deputy mayor, Yannis Anastasioumade special reference to the message sent by the relay which he said covers a total distance of 750 kilometers with 72 sections of which the runners are in 39 sections and the cyclists in another 33, passing through dozens of cities on their way.

At all the stopping points in the region, Domokos, Lamia and Antheli, initiatives were taken by the organizations of the region to spread the message through parallel events, which continues at all the points through which the relay passes.
