The Operations Center of the Fire Brigade has received more than 200 calls since this morning due to the bad weather that is affecting Greece. In total, the Fire Brigade has received 214 calls and specifically: 103 calls for tree felling, 64 for water pumping and 47 for removal of objects.
In more detail:
- In various areas of the Attica Region, 108 calls, of which 62 for tree felling, 2 for water pumping and 44 for object removal.
- In the Region of Western Greece (Etoloakarnania, Achaia, Ilia) 63 calls, of which 18 for tree felling, 44 for water pumping and 1 for object removal.
- In the Region of Epirus (Arta, Ioannina, Thesprotia, Preveza), 27 calls of which 13 for tree felling and 14 for water pumping.
- In the Ionian Islands Region (Corfu, Zakynthos) 16 calls, of which 10 for tree felling, 4 for water pumping and 2 for object removal.
According to a statement issued by the Fire Brigade, the operational plan for dealing with the risks of floods and their accompanying phenomena remains in place, while the Fire Services of the areas where the phenomena are expected to develop remain in a state of increased readiness and further escalation, if necessary, by dispersing staff and vehicles in order to address any problems immediately.
Finally, the Fire Brigade appeals to the citizens to be especially careful and in case of dangerous weather phenomena, to follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
