An incredible incident developed during the police patrol in the area of Paramythia, who, during the inspection of a stopped truck, found the driver dead and found that there was a load of hydroponic cannabis in the vehicle’s undercarriage.
At the same time, the police found that a man was trying to get into the cart.
The investigation revealed that among the cargo, supermarket trolleys, drugs were also hidden, which the arrested person was trying to recover.
The truck had Bulgarian license plates, a company of Greek interests and had started its journey from Spain, with a final destination of Athens, via Italy and the Port of Igoumenitsa.
During the search carried out on the truck with the help of the police dog “Lussy”, they were found hidden among the goods three cardboard boxeswhich contained a total of 54 airtight packages of raw hydroponic cannabis (skunk), total weight 58 kg and 906 grams.
The police investigation revealed that after the truck was located, the arrested person, together with his local accomplice and two other unknown accomplices, attempted to breach the truck’s lining, with the obvious intention of receiving the drugs.
As part of the investigations, the I.X.E. of the arrested person, which he used to approach the truck, as well as the total amount of money of 2,100 euros.
He was arresteds, with the file filed by the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Igoumenitsa Security Sub-Directorate, will be taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Thesprotia.
