One of the biggest gastronomic festivals in the country, Mesa São Paulo returns to the agenda of the capital of São Paulo this weekend. The Latin America Memorial, in Barra Funda, hosts the event from Thursday (3) to Saturday (5).
The program includes a free event open to the public, called Farofa do Brasil. The fair brings together more than one hundred small producers from several states with stalls selling their own products. They are items such as olive oil, mushrooms, wines, fruits, cheeses, among others.
Paid activities are divided into three fronts, each with independent tickets. There is Mesa Tendências, a congress that brings together representatives of gastronomy to discuss topics related to the sector.
This year, the conference also welcomes spokespeople for indigenous culture, Brazilian chefs who run international restaurants and Latin American chefs. There will be 43 lectures by names such as Clarinda Ramos, Débora Shornik, Cici de Oxalá, Bel Coelho, Janaína Rueda and Alex Atala.
In turn, Mesa ao Vivo promotes a series of practical classes focused on the universe of gastronomy, such as bakery and confectionery, in addition to tastings. Brasa na Mesa is dedicated to the world of meats, with deboning and charcuterie classes, for example.
In addition to promoting conversations and practices about the world of food, the event offers the so-called Great Dinners. In this edition, five restaurants in the capital of São Paulo welcome chefs to serve menus specially created for the occasion.
The dinner schedule started on Tuesday, the 1st, but there is still time to participate in the last three. This Friday, the 4th, for example, chef from Paraíba Onildo Rocha opens Notiê, at the top of the Light mall, to welcome chef-confectioner Saiko Izawa (Hotel Rosewood São Paulo) and chefs Helena Rizzo (Maní), Rodrigo Oliveira (Mocotó ), the Belgian Hervé Witmeur (La Cozinha, on the coast of Piauí), Débora Shornik (Caxiri Amazônia, in Manaus) and Felipe Schaedler (Banzeiro, with units in Manaus and São Paulo). The dinner invitation costs R$ 600 and includes pairing.
Tickets for Mesa São Paulo activities cost from R$ 79.80 to R$ 720. See the complete program at mesap.com.br.
