Severe weather EVA: Fallen trees and awning fire from lightning in Athens – Where will the phenomenon move

Due to the bad weather, the stores that were supposed to be open on Sunday will remain closed, with their operation being postponed to the following Sunday.

The bad weather “Eva” has been in progress since yesterday afternoon, which started from the Ionian Sea and is affecting most of the country.

Shortly after midnight, the bad weather began to hit Attica as well, while 112 had been called earlier.

So far, the fire department has received 13 calls for tree felling, three of which concerned the center of Athens and the rest in Kallithea, Salamina, Koropi, Nikaia, Ilioupoli and Dionysos.

Also, lightning struck a palm tree in Haidari at night, resulting in a fire that spread to an awning.

Citizens are asked to limit their movements to those that are absolutely necessary.

The course of the bad weather in the next few hours

The effects will be strong in places

-on the Ionian Islands until noon

– in the Cyclades, western Crete and the Sporades from the morning, from the Samos-Ikaria region and further south from midday

– on the mainland (except Thrace) until the afternoon

– and in the Dodecanese from the early afternoon.
