A 47-year-old Greek man and a 40-year-old foreigner were arrested yesterday (9/11) as part of the spontaneous procedure, in Athens, by police officers of the Athens Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate, as members of a gang that committed robberies by profession, serially and consecutively.

In addition, a 33-year-old Greek woman and a 41-year-old foreigner were arrested on a case-by-case basis for violating the legislation on weapons, on addictive substances and supporting a criminal.

According to ELAS, during the expansion of recorded incidents of armed and knife robberies in shops in the last period of time in the area of ​​Kolonos and Agios Panteleimonas, the two men were identified and their criminal activity was certified.

The two members of the gang were arrested, by a police team that had been set up to locate them, while the 40-year-old man tried to escape during the arrest.

In searches carried out in their homes, among other things, they found and confiscated: a replica pistol, a knife-bayonet with a blade length of 30 cm, knives, 2 cartridges, pepper spray, 39 grams. cannabis, precision electronic scales and clothing used in the commission of robberies.

From the preliminary investigation of the Athens Security Sub-Directorate so far, a total of 5 cases of robbery at two petrol stations, a bakery, a convenience store and a pawn shop have been discovered.

Those arrested were taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
