The amendment is expected to be voted on Wednesday by the Plenary of the Parliament
Filed from the Ministry of Environment and Energy amendment, by which it is enacted Temporary Retail Market Portion Return Mechanismpursuant to which an extraordinary levy is imposed on Electricity Suppliers based on their excess revenue from the activity of each in the domestic retail electricity market.
The amendment provides for the imposition of a temporary contribution amount in the event that at the time of this calculation, measurements of some consumptions are not available.
With the promoted provisions the establishment of the Electricity Demand Reduction Service is also foreseen to deal with high energy prices and it is stipulated that the financial compensation to which the providers of the Electricity Demand Reduction Service are entitled will be paid from the revenues of the TEM (Energy Transition Fund). If the providers of the Electricity Demand Reduction Service do not ensure the limitation of active power as stated above, non-compliance charges are imposed, which constitute T.E.M.’s revenue.
A Joint Ministerial Decision will regulate the details for the implementation of this new service and the determination of the consumers who will be invited to participate in the mechanism.
At the same time, a program entitled “Readiness for Smart Buildings” is established by the Ministry of Digital Governance with the aim of strengthening buildings through a voucher system (noucher), to offset the cost of installing infrastructure in the fiber optic socket, in order to make them “smart”.
The program is financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0 and is implemented by “Socionia Informatias Monoprosopi S.A.”. All buildings, within the intervention areas (in which there is an optical fiber network), represented by their managers, are eligible, except for buildings owned by general government entities.
Besides, it is possible, within the framework of the programs concerning interventions in the building sector to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, to include complementary and broader renovation interventions for aesthetic and functional renovation and upgrading of buildings and building units.
The amendment is expected to be voted on Wednesday by the Plenary of the Parliament.
