The procedure for declarations of Political Education performance has been completed

With the statements of the Civil Prosecution (in support of the Class) of the last victims of the deadly fire in Mati at the Three-member Court of Misdemeanors, the process of recording all those, relatives dead, burned and fire victims which on the afternoon of July 23, 2018 is now the painful ” before and after” of their lives.

About 213 representations of victims of the fire have been declared in court, which within a few hours turned into a tragedy with one hundred dead, dozens injured and widespread destruction in Mati.

In court today there was tension during the reading of the names of witnesses as victims, burn victims and relatives of victims, reacted when they saw Fire Service officers on the witness list. The anger of the victims was mainly caused by the presence of firefighting helicopter operators to whom some of the audience shouted: “Where were you that day? We only saw one helicopter.”

The situation was quickly normalized after the president of the three-member Misdemeanor Court reacted immediately, asking everyone to respect the process. Addressing those who booed the fire marshals, she said: “You’re not here to vent your pain or your anger. You’re here to have a fair trial. You’re going to leave your anger at the door because that’s how trials are done. . It’s like a prayer.”

A request was submitted to the court by an advocate representing victims, in order to testify as the first witnesses of the experts of the Fire Department, who were appointed by the Prosecuting Authorities for the case, who are listed in the list of witnesses in order of position 93 and below.

The Court adjourned until next Friday, November 18, when the defense of the 21 defendants is expected to file objections on issues related to the legalization of the civil action.
