The 50 Best of Latin America, the regional version of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants considered the Oscar of gastronomy, has been released again after two years of hiatus caused by the pandemic. And, for the first time, the list brings ten Brazilian restaurants — seven of them, in São Paulo. The announcement was made in the early hours of this Wednesday, 16, in Mérida, Mexico.

Once again, A Casa do Porco, by Janaína and Jefferson Rueda, is among the top ten in the region according to the ranking. The address maintained fourth place, the same position it reached in 2020, and is considered the best restaurant in the country.

Among the novelties on the list are three premieres: Nelita (39), Charco (35) and Metzi (27), all in São Paulo. In addition to them, DOM, by Alex Atala, who dropped 20 positions and was in 33rd, Maní (21) and Evvai (14).

As is the tradition of the organization, the ranking has one hundred addresses. The preview, with the houses that make up the list of positions from 51st to 100th, was released on November 3rd.

Four of these restaurants are in São Paulo: Kotori (65), Fame Osteria (83), Fasano (94), and Corrutela (95), which closed during the pandemic and reopened in December last year.
