Themistocleous on SKAI 100.3: Thousands of new appointments from January 5 for vaccination of children 5-11

The first large receipt of coronavirus vaccines for children aged 5 to 11 will arrive in Greece on January 3, and thousands of new appointments will open on January 4-5, he said. Marios Themistokleous, Secretary General of Primary Health Care speaking on SKAI 100.3 radio and Aris Portosalte.

The vaccinations of children of this age group start today with the first 60,000 doses, while according to Mr. Themistokleous, 31,000 appointments had been made by Tuesday afternoon.

For those over 60, he said 115,000 people in the group had either been vaccinated with the first dose or had scheduled their appointment, and estimated that by January 16, half of the 520,000 unvaccinated would have been vaccinated.

The Secretary of Primary Health Care also noted that home-based vaccinations have increased and that 18,000 first-dose immunization requests will be given priority to those who are unable to move.

He also explained that a special platform is being prepared for those who have been vaccinated abroad in order to submit their certificates and not be fined.
