They “opened” cars outside cemeteries and beaches in Thessaloniki – Over 6,000 euros their loot

Two people were arrested, the third is wanted. Within two months they had committed 18 burglaries in Serres and Kavala

Cars that were parked outside cemeteries but also in seaside areas were at “target» of three men accused of having committed a total of 18 burglaries since last September, in areas of Serres and Kavala. Two of them (24 and 50 years old) were arrested, while the third (33 years old) was identified and is being sought.

As the police announced, the total loot from the action attributed to them is estimated to be close to 6000 euros. Of the total burglaries, six took place outside cemeteries in various areas of Serres and the rest in seaside areas of Kavala (Ammolofi, Ofrynio, Nea Peramos, etc.).

The two arrested were spotted at noon on Saturday in Thessaloniki, after a burglary in Kavala. They were riding in a car and in their attempt to avoid police control, they sped up, hitting a patrol car. After abandoning their vehicle, they attempted to flee on foot, but were stopped.

The policemen Mrthey impounded two vehicles which appears to have been used by the perpetrators to commit the thefts, as well as a small amount of cannabis found in the possession of one of the arrested. The investigation of EL.AS. continues in order to establish their possible participation in other similar criminal acts.

Those arrested were taken to the Kavala First Instance Prosecutor’s Office and were referred to apologize to the Investigator.
