Mouths are opening and the complaints that are now coming to light every day about what the children experienced for years in “Ark of the World” they cause chills.
The beatings, the swearing, the isolations and the cruel punishments which some children report experienced, cause anger and disgust.
After the complaint of a 19-year-old former inmate of the structure, who found the strength to report that he was a victim of sexual abuse, the revelations have taken the form of an avalanche, while some of them concern the founder of the Ark, Father Antonio.
The “chamber of the wind” has been opened for good and the two judicial officials from the juvenile prosecutor’s office who have taken over the case, are expected to call witnesses in order to testify what was really going on behind the closed doors of the Ark of the World structures.
According to information, in the first round of deposits that may be opened even today, the deposits of children who have stayed in the structures and at least 3 workers in them will be included. According to the same information, Father Antonios will be the last to testify.
The two prosecutors, through the depositions, will decide whether the charges of bodily harm to vulnerable persons, which is a misdemeanor, and the charge of abusing a minor in lawlessness, which is a felony, are substantiated.
Elder Stamatia Georgantis, who allegedly knew what was happening and what the minors were going through, is also expected to be targeted by the two prosecutors.
It is recalled that Mrs. Georgantis was the president of the Board of Directors of the “Ark of the World” which the government “removed” – as well as its entire administration – until full light falls and the case is clarified.
The decision was taken after a meeting held by the Prime Minister following the shocking allegations that have left the Panhellenic nation speechless.
Total so far the complaints that have been forwarded under extreme secrecy by the Ombudsman in the prosecution it is 10, while the case has been investigated by the authorities for about 2.5 months, when the first complaint was made.
