22-year-old Eugenia, a girl who lived for a while in the structures of the Ark of the World, spoke to Fai Skordas and “Our Breakfast” about the conditions she lived in and the situations she experienced as a guest of the Ark.
Eugenia said she is coming out to talk because she is worried about her brother who is still living in the Ark structure. “He’s a difficult kid, like I was, and certainly as we speak he’s in solitary confinement. They don’t let me communicate with him,” said the girl.
Eugenia went with her other 4 siblings (out of 10 in the family) by prosecutor’s decision to Kivoto when she was 9 years old and the youngest child was 3 years old. At first all the brothers were together in a structure and then they were separated and sent to different structures, all over Greece.
Eugenia was sent to the Chios structure when the officials found out that she had a relationship with another boy in the structure and she got pregnant at 17 and had an abortion by prosecutor’s order. For three years she was in isolation, she had no contact or communication with her siblings.
Eugenia had previously spoken to a prosecutor in Chios about what was happening inside the structure but nothing changed.

“They locked us in the toilet until we said sorry, I stayed locked in the toilet from the afternoon until 3 in the morning” he said characteristically.
“There were good people in the structures and they either kicked them out or left on their own because they couldn’t bear to see what was happening,” said Eugenia.
When she came of age, on her birthday, she left the structure, with nothing in the outside world.
