This year’s 19th Dream Town, renewed, has many surprises in store for young and old
With an impressive celebration, full of glitter and music, the 19th Oniroupolis opened wide its gates, last night, in the central square of Drama, to welcome young and old to the fairytale Christmas scene created for another year by the organizers.
This year’s 19th Dream Town is renewed in its entirety, with many surprises in store. Young and old can visit the Christmas village and browse the houses of the fifteen free interactive activities, in which the children will spend their time beautifully and creatively.
The program also includes 14 concerts that will be hosted on the main stage, more than 45 cultural events, five theater performances and many more social, sports and charity events.
Since December 2003, when the Dream Town of the municipality of Drama first started its operation, it remains the point of reference for Christmas events for the whole of northern Greece as well as the southern Balkan regions. However, the coronavirus pandemic “froze” the 2020 event, while last year’s event was marked by the adoption of particularly strict health measures, which, combined with the pandemic that was still raging, resulted in low attendance compared to all other previous years. This year, the organizers estimate that Oniroupolis, as well as the city of Drama, will live again the old beautiful moments and will be flooded with thousands of visitors from all over Greece and the neighboring Balkan countries.
The public’s interest in this year’s event is great and creates a particularly sweet anticipation for the festive days to come in all Draminos. In the last decade, after all, the economic life of the local community relies to a very large extent on the organization of Oniroupolis, and in the two previous years of the pandemic, the postponement of the organization and the low attendance of people, was a blow to the economy of the unspoiled city.
According to the organizers, to date more than a hundred schools from all over Greece have expressed interest in visiting Oniroupolis, responding to the targeted campaign that was made, while the data from travel agencies and the Hotel Association of Drama show that Oniroupolis and its city Drama will be one of the top Christmas destinations this year.
Dream City will last until January 8, 2023. Its opening hours are: from 04/12 to 23/12: 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 22.00 and from 24/10 to 08/01/23 from 10.00 to 22.00.
