Members of the libertarian initiative in Thessaloniki carried out a paint attack on the office of the pediatrician and director of the A’ pediatric clinic of the Hippocrates hospital on the occasion of the shooting of the 16-year-old Roma by a police officer in the early hours of Monday.
In their announcement, among other things, they emphasize:
“Kostas Fragoulis is hospitalized in an extremely critical condition in the ICU at G.N.Th. Hippocrates. He is having fun from the first moment. His parents asked to attend the medical briefing. However, their request was rejected by the director of the Unit in consultation with the hospital administrator.
The latter, in fact, cynically stated that “it is the decision of the doctors who to inform and what information to convey”, saying that “medical announcements are not issued for all incidents”, without explaining why there was no medical notification for this specific incident . And of course nothing could justify the refusal to provide information to the parents of a minor child. Roma and solidarity supporters were outside Hippocrates, where strong police forces were deployed, set up barricades and clashed with the police. All this was happening in the absence of medical information.”
