The incident occurred when a car driven by a Roma did not stop during a car check carried out by the police of Serres in Pontismeno of the municipality of Heraklia, and a chase ensued.
According to the president of the Police officers of Serres, Mr. Anastasios Arambatzis, a group was immediately gathered group of 15-20 people in order to stop the control and attacked the OPKE police officers and there was a fight.
As Mr. Arabatzis states in Epiloges, “fortunately the police were able to disengage quickly, while the policeman was hit in the face and taken to the hospital”.
It should be noted that there were two police officers conducting the checks in the area, according to Mr. Arabatzis.
The three perpetrators are known to the police and they have already been arrested, while a case has been filed and they will be taken to the public prosecutor.
