As of today, Sunday, December 19, the entry measures in the country are being tightened due to the Omicron mutation of the coronavirus. The new forecasts will be valid until January 10.
All travelers to Greece, regardless of nationality and method of entry and whether they have been vaccinated or have been diagnosed with coronavirus, must have been diagnosed negative by laboratory test by PCR within the last 72 hours before their arrival in Greece.
Alternatively, they may have a negative 24-hour rapid test.
Air and shipping companies, as well as road and rail companies are required to check the traveler before boarding to confirm that he has the necessary documents.
Travelers to Greece who are diagnosed positive for coronavirus are subject to temporary restriction, at home or at a suitable place of temporary residence indicated by the competent authorities, for ten days, while those who have completed the vaccination fourteen days ago and are diagnosed positive in a temporary restriction of seven days.
Due to the new mutation, the sea connections with Turkey are temporarily limited, while the fullness of the ships that operate the routes Greece-Italy and Greece-Albania is reduced.
