To prosecutor osays the 39-year-old who was arrested on the charge of shooting with a hunting rifle and injuring a 37-year-old burglar in the leg, when he tried to enter his house, in Neo Rysio, Thessaloniki.
A case was filed against him for dangerous bodily harm and violation of the arms law, while at the same time the 37-year-old is being treated as a guardout of danger, in hospital.
According to a police statement, the injured person had previously broken into another house in a residential complex in the same area. When he attempted to break through the basement window of the 39-year-old’s single-family home and was noticed, the tenant did not hesitate to shoot him with a legally owned rifle.
THE burglar, of Albanian origin, tried to escape from the fence of the plot, but failed due to the injury he suffered and was picked up by an ambulance station. A search of the site and the wider area revealed burglary tools and a stolen vehicle that he allegedly used to approach his “targets”.
