Suzuki is one of the car manufacturers that timely developed the mild hybrid technology and removed from the range of their models the internal combustion units that consume diesel.
Suzuki’s next program to reduce emissions from internal combustion engines is complete hybrid technology. This is the technology that ensures the possibility of purely electric movement in the urban environment for a few tens of kilometers and helps to increase power.
The Japanese brand will launch in 2022 in its European range the complete hybrid technology (strong hybrid), to reduce the burden on the environment.
The complete hybrid technology consists of a new gasoline engine, an electric motor with generator (MGU) and automatic transmission. Provides hybrid driving and purely electric driving (with the petrol engine inactive) to reduce fuel consumption.
The electric motor can start and accelerate the vehicle smoothly, with the petrol engine inactive. The placement of the MGU on the output side of the automatic transmission ensures the transmission of power directly to the drive shaft to fill the power gap in the gear change. Thus, there is a smooth feeling when moving from one relationship to another.
In addition, this configuration contributes to the collection of kinetic energy and the efficient production of electricity, through the shutdown of the engine and the release of the clutch during deceleration. This feature extends the autonomy of electric driving.
The driver can choose between Standard and Eco mode. In Standard mode, the MGU generator more often supports the engine for more powerful driving, while in Eco mode the electric driving system is activated more often for greater fuel savings.
The strong hybrid will be added first to the Suzuki Vitara and then to the Suzuki S-Cross.
