Facing deadlock and lockout, an export business in Magnesia was found. Crook he stole half a million euros from a transaction with a foreign supplier and the businessman has “lost the ground under his feet”.
The owner filed a lawsuit two days ago, but told authorities the theft of the money through fraud happened a year ago. According to what became known, the owner’s company received a large order from a partner company abroad.
The order has been shipped and all payment information has been requested. The owner from Greece was invited to notify the IBAN and invoice numbers. Along the way and while investigating the fraud, he found that the email he received to give the IBAN differed by one letter, from that of the company with which he traded.
That is, he sent his account number to a person who would never pay him… The fraudster received the company email and changed the IBAN. He filed a different account number with the company that had to pay the professional from Magnesia, so when the payment was made he collected the amount.
The foreign company states that it deposited the money into the account given to it as genuine, and all suspicions fall on employees it employs, so the investigations will also be extended to the country where the receiving company of the materials is based. The question to be answered by the depositions is why the businessman from Magnesia took a year to report the fraud.
