Ms Pagoni said a general lockdown “would be the biggest mistake the government has made at the moment”, especially given the number of people who have been vaccinated and given the third boost.

He recommended that there be 8 to 10 people at the festive tables who will have undergone a coronavirus test first, whether they have been vaccinated or not.
“If we really all want to be safe and at the same time have fun, I think a test is not that difficult,” he said.

Regarding the Omicron mutation of the coronavirus, Ms. Pagoni said that the first data show that it is 70 times more contagious than the Delta mutation but with much simpler symptoms.
As he said, a gradual decrease of cases and indicators is expected after December 25, however, by the end of February, an outbreak of the pandemic is expected.
The third dose saves lives
He stressed the importance of the third boost of the coronavirus vaccine, saying that it saves lives and called on all citizens to rush to get it.
