A criminal organization whose members were active in the supply, storage and trafficking of narcotics in the greater Athens area was dismantled by the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate.
In particular, two members of the organization (a 31-year-old and a 48-year-old foreigner) were arrested in the context of an organized police operation on Thursday (22/12) in the areas of Nea Smyrni and Neo Heraklion in Attica for violating the law on addictive substances.

In terms of the method of action, the members of the organization, in order to ensure their coverage, used a taxi and a truck transporting fruit and vegetable products as business vehicles.
In particular, on Thursday (22/12) Narcotics Prosecution officers arrested the 48-year-old in Nea Smyrni, inside the taxi, for possessing for the purpose of trafficking 21 nylon packages of 24 kg and 400 grams. raw cannabis.
At the same time, in the area of ​​Neos Heraklion, they found the 31-year-old inside the truck, with 40 nylon packages containing 48 kg and 900 grams. raw cannabis and was arrested.
In a search carried out in the houses, in a warehouse and in the operational means of transport of the defendants, a total of 8 grams were found and seized. of cocaine, a number of nylon packages containing 2 kg and 800 g. of processed hemp and 40 kg and 190 g. raw cannabis, 3 improvised cigarettes containing raw cannabis, 3 precision electronic scales, the sum of 1050 euros, 10 mobile phones. The taxi and the truck used for their transportation were also confiscated.
According to EL.AS, the expected financial benefit from the activity of the criminal organization exceeds 700,000 euros.
The arrested persons, with the case filed against them, were taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
