The recording of the damages in Evia caused by the 4.9 Richter earthquake that occurred at noon on Wednesday in Psachna is in progress. Engineers from the Ministry of Infrastructure are recording the damage in detail, assisted by the Technical Chamber of Evia.
So far, 70 houses in the Municipality of Dirfyon-Messapia were checked of which the 22 came out yellow as minor damage was detected and the 48 greens, i.e. habitable. They were also found damaged 8 houses in the Municipality of Chalkidea.
Also, in Psachna, two shop windows were broken, while in Triada the community shop suffered minor damage.
All the civil protection services of the municipalities and the region are on heightened alert, after the meeting that took place in Psachna.
The seismic sequence in the area continues. So far they have recorded over 70 tremors. Seismologists are monitoring the phenomenon, as Euthymios Lekkas pointed out to SKAI today, while as Professor Gerasimos Papadopoulos stated yesterday to SKAI, the fault is known to seismologists, but they do not know its dimensions.
