He hit his neck and hands and had to be transported to Lamia Hospital
Unfortunately from this year Epiphany there was no shortage of accidents in Fthiotida and in fact at Skala Theologu in Malesina, we had the serious injury of a 22-year-old who dived for the Cross.
The young man, who is originally from Malesina and lives in Attica, also wanted to dive from the pier located on the beach at a height of about 2 meters from the water. The water level was about half a meter with the result that when he dived he hit his hands and head.
With the help of the others taking part in the ceremony, he was pulled to the beach and an EKAV ambulance was notified. The residents of Theologos reported that it was delayed in arriving, as the Atalanti ambulance was busy with a transfer and another one from Kamena Vourla had to come.
Finally with enough time delay the young man arrived at the Atalanti Health Center where two elbow fractures and a blow to the neck were diagnosed and it was decided to transfer him immediately to the Lamia Hospital.
According to the residents, the specific incident also highlighted the problem of covering a large area such as Lokris with ambulances, as a single crew tries to serve thousands of residents. And especially on days like this when the traffic in the area is very high.
