Golden Globe menu has Icelandic salmon and R$700 sparkling wine

Michelle Williams or Kate Blanchett? “The Fabelmans” or “Tár”? “The House of the Dragon” or “Break”? The winners of the 80th Golden Globe Awards will only be known after the envelopes are opened on Tuesday night (10). But it is already possible to know what they will be eating at the ceremony, which takes place once again at the Beverly Hilton, in Los Angeles.

Unlike other awards, the Golden Globes have always stood out for serving a dinner in the middle of the ceremony, with unlimited drinks, which can sometimes contribute to, let’s say, more informal speeches —Ricky Gervais’ performance is famous, always with a glass of beer in tow.

“We will be using a variety of seasonal, highly sustainable and delicious ingredients,” commented Matthew Morgan, the hotel’s head chef.

For this year, Hollywood stars will be able to taste a grapefruit salad, with a mix of herbs and chicory, coconut yogurt, caramelized grapefruit vinaigrette and pesto sauce.

Next, Icelandic salmon with a citrus-scented celery puree, honey, small onions and radish will be served — there is a vegan option, with pumpkin risotto with Brussels sprouts, pomegranate seeds and crispy thyme.

For dessert, the suggestion is the Limoncello Dome, a Sicilian lemon cream with raspberry jam and pistachio cramble.

“By developing the menu, we celebrated the flavors and culture of the gastronomic regions,” added the chef. The menu features Southern California ingredients alongside fresh, farm-raised Icelandic salmon. According to the organization, any leftover food from the party will be donated to the Hollywood Food Coalition.

Moët & Chandon, which has historically partnered with the event, separated two versions of sparkling wine: an Imperial Rosé and a Grand Vintage, year 2012 —which you can buy here for around R$700, the 750 ml bottle.

To finish off, small treats from Timothy Maguire Chocolates, from North Carolina. That way, nobody gets too upset about losing.

The Golden Globes will be broadcast on the American network NBC and will not be shown on any channel in Brazil.
