It remains unknown if and when the woman in whose arms he died after being stabbed by the life-sentenced Giorgos Roupakias, the 34-year-old musician, will take the witness stand.

With the testimony of the eyewitness to the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, Paraskevi Karagiannidou, the Golden Dawn trial continues.

At the commencement of the proceedings, the chairperson called the witness, whose turn it is on the list, without pronouncing the name of the musician’s partner Chrysas Tosloukou who had been called for today. Thus, it remains unknown if and when the woman in whose arms he cooled down, stabbed by the sentenced to life imprisonment Giorgos Roupakias, the 34-year-old musician, will take the witness stand.

The witness testified that there was an “ambush” by a group of people “dressed in camouflage” who were in collusion with each other and trapped Fyssa.

The witness recounted that at that moment she herself was, just a few meters from where the musician was fatally stabbed, on a bench with her friend Ms. Zorzou (who testified at the previous meeting).

As he said, they saw after the end of the match, a group of about 20 people running towards them and that about eight, they were chasing Fyssa. “Everyone was “calling” them rhythmically” he said and emphasized that he saw three people who trapped “the boy…they made a rope around him and beat him”. He went on to say that “then I saw a silver car come quickly in reverse, from the opposite stream and stop at the spot.

“There was a passenger and I saw the driver go towards the cordon the others had made around the lad. I saw those who had surrounded Fyssa open the cord as soon as the driver of the car approached them. It was as if they were making room for him. I saw him approach and then embrace him. Everything happened quickly. Then two DIAS machines came to the scene. The cops approached the lad who I heard say something like “not me! Him!”.

Chairman: Did you hear any order? “Break now, Police “?

Witness: They generally shouted a lot. There was intense chatter. I don’t remember exact words, phrases, but they had rhythm, intensity. Like saying the same thing. To encourage those who beat Fyssa. There seemed to be a consensus in all of this. They made room for the driver. They had Fyssa limited.

Chairman: You mentioned “ambush”. You are describing the same thing now. Did they know that Roupakias would come?

Witness: Yes, it was an ambush. It seemed as if they had been waiting for him. They did not react when he approached. They made room for him.

As he said, as soon as the police arrested the perpetrator of the murder, the passenger in his car got out of the vehicle.

Chairman: Did you recognize the passenger you mentioned? Did they show you pictures afterwards?

Witness: In the first court the president asked me, and seeing those behind me, I pointed to someone who resembled his body type. I hadn’t seen any facial features.

The witness testified that after the “stabbing of Fyssa” the others ran away.

The process continues.
