Addressing the 12 defendants, she turned to their side and said: “Look at me, I am Alki’s mother. What did my leventi do to you?’
The mother of Alkis Kampanou, Melina, burst out against the defendants for her son’s murder, at the beginning of her testimony in the crowded hall of the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki.
Melina Kakoulidou, addressing the 12 defendants, turned to them and said: “Look at me, I’m Alki’s mother” and added “Why are you looking at me, Velalopoulos?”.
“You killed our child”, shouted relatives of the deceased 19-year-old at the same time.
“What has happened to you, my leventie?” It was 1.90″, cried Alki’s mother, clearly agitated, looking at the 12 defendants in the case.
“If they had even a drop of truth they would look me in the face, in my eyes they would see Alkis. I have been watching them for a long time, I studied them, I wanted to see who these children are who murdered my own child”, Alki’s mother said in her testimony.
Speaking about her son, she emphasized that Alkis “accepted everyone from a young age. From early on, he showed that he has a well-formed personality. A child full of gifts, smile, lack of ego.”
“It wasn’t a murder, it was a brutality that my own child went through,” Alki’s mother said. “30 hits on my child. They mutilated his skull,” he noted, adding that none of the mothers of the defendants offered a single apology.
