Meetings of former minister Nikos Pappas with Kalogritsa and lawyer Artemis Artemiou emerge – The former minister’s lawyers filed an objection to the controversial text messages from Pappas to Kalogritsa – They insulted them as fakes and that they violate personal data

Excerpts from the diary of the secretary of businessman Christos Kalogritsa, who is on trial before the Special Court together with former minister Nikos Pappas, were presented by the defense of the businessman, following up on what she testified when she was examined at the trial as a witness.
From the diary of Ethalia Diamantis, who has testified about “envelopes and bags with money from the Kalogritsa office for the SYRIZA party”, entries appear for meetings of the former minister Nikos Pappa in the Kalogritsa office with the businessman on trial, as well as the lawyer Artemis Artemiou .
In particular, as Kalogritsa’s advocate, Angelos Karahalios, reported, the businessman’s secretary has two notes in the diary in September 2016.
According to these entries, there were two meetings, always at the offices of Christos Kalogritsa, one on the 15th of the month and one on the 22nd of September between Nikos Pappa and the lawyer Artemis Artemiou the first time, while the second meeting between Pappa and Artemiou was also attended by Kalogritsas himself.
In fact, the second meeting of the three (Pappa Kalogritsa Artemiou) has been registered on the day of Mr. Kalogritsa’s meeting with the shipowner Vangelis Marinakis in order to finance the project of participating in the television license competition.
Objections from Papa for fake sms
On the part of the advocates of the former minister Nikos Pappas, the lawyer Yiannis Mantzouranis submitted to the Court objections against the text messages (sms) provided by Christos Kalogritsa with electronic dialogues between the businessman and Nikos Pappas.
The objection, as stated by Yiannis Mantzouranis, concerns a violation of the protection of personal data, because the messages were submitted without the approval of one of the interlocutors, namely Nikos Pappas.
In addition, however, the objection concerns the forgery of these messages, since as Mr. Mantzouranis mentioned “if someone has someone’s cell phone they can make as many messages as they want».
In fact, Nikos Pappa’s lawyer added that “the messages are fake and are tampered with. Someone has put their hand in it».
To this end, expert opinion from the office of Dimitrios Kalatzis and Son was presented in support of the view that it is easy to “make” dialogues between interlocutors from mobile phones.
The disputed meetings
In detail, the intervention of the lawyer of Christos Kalogritsa, Angelos Karahalios who produced the excerpts of the diary of the secretary of the businessman on trial.
“I would like to submit two more important facts concerning Mrs. Diamanti’s testimony, as well as the historic sms of November 15, 2016, which the press and political world did not ignore. I link it directly to the content of Diamanti’s testimony and to this message, because her credibility was raised, she was described as disreputable, a false witness and a slanderer.
The diary kept by Kalogritsa’s secretary for forty years, of which we will present excerpts from two days of September 15 and 22, 2016. Mrs. Diamanti testified that Mr. Artemiou had meetings with Papa and Kalogritsa at the Kalogritsa offices. The same witness has said that on 22-9-2016 Christos Kalogritsas met with Mr. Marinakis. On 15/9 there is a registered meeting with Artemiou at the offices of the Kalogritsa company but also on 22-9 there is a meeting between Papa Kalogritsa and Artemiou , after the meeting with Marinakis and in the evening Kalogritsa meeting with Mr. Pappa.»
