The arrangements will be implemented from 9 am in the main streets of Thessaloniki due to the events for the Day of Remembrance of the Greek Jewish Martyrs and Heroes of the Holocaust
Traffic restrictions will come into force on Sunday, from 9 am, in the main streets of Thessaloniki, due to the events for the Day of Remembrance of the Greek Jewish Martyrs and Heroes of the Holocaust. At the same time, there will also be short-term changes to city bus routes.
A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Holocaust Memorial located in Eleftheria Square, on the initiative of the Israelite Community of Thessaloniki and in cooperation with the Region of Central Macedonia.
According to an announcement by the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate, from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon there will be interventions (interruptions-diversions) of traffic on the following roads:
– on Nikis Avenue in the section between Ionos Dragoumi and El. Venizelou streets
-on Kountouriotou street in the section between 26th October (courts junction) and Ionos Dragoumi streets
-on Ionos Dragoumi Street in the section between Tsimiski Street and Nikis Avenue
– on El.Venizelou Street in the section between Niki Avenue and Tsimiski Street
– on Salaminos Street along its entire length and on Mitropoleos Street in its section between I.Dragoumis and El.Venizelou Streets.
Also, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Sundays, stopping and parking cars on the streets will not be allowed:
-on Kountouriotou Street in the section between 26th October Streets (Dikastirios Junction) and I.Dragoumis Streets
-on I. Dragoumi Street in the section between Tsimiski Street and Nikis Avenue, on El. Venizelou Street in the section between Niki Avenue and Tsimiski Street
– on Mitropoleos street in the section between I. Dragoumi and El. Venizelou streets and on Ag. Mina street along the entire length on both sides of the street.
Traffic will be conducted through Polytechniou, 26th of October, Egnatia, Tsimiski and the rest of the streets in the central part of the city.
