Message against fan violence from the students of the 11th Primary School of Kalamaria
One year after the murder of 19-year-old Alkis Kampanos by hooligans in Thessaloniki, the students and teachers of the 11th Primary School of Kalamaria sent resounding messages against fan violence.
This morning, students wore their favorite teams’ jerseys and showed that they have nothing to divide each other, continuing to play together in the school yard.
The jerseys and scarves of PAOK, Aris, Herakles and other teams were put in front of the shocking graffiti depicting 19-year-old Alkis protecting children wearing different colored jerseys. In fact, they prepared a touching song in which they shouted, among other things, “we are all friends”.

“It would be Alki’s dream that we all coexist together and gaze at this ideal world”
The creator of the graffiti, “Sam84”, stated that this creation is for Alkis and that he wants to send the message that we can all coexist peacefully regardless of the group we support. “We think it would be Alki’s dream that this could happen. He was designed to look down on this ideal world.”
The mayor of Kalamaria, Yiannis Dardamanelis, also attended the school, who spoke to the young students about fan violence. He emphasized to the children that they have nothing to divide each other and not to use violence for any reason.
“If they do to me what they did to Alkis?”
It is also worth noting the statement of the president of the Association of Parents and Guardians of the 11th Primary School of Kalamaria, Maria Piniataro.
As she explained, her young son was worried the day before that if he wears the jersey of his favorite team, some other people might do to him what they did to Alkis. “I tried to let him know that something like this won’t happen again,” he said.
Finally, the young students painted the words “solidarity, coexistence, mutual respect” in a corner of the school.
