Police announcement ahead of bad weather “Barbara” – What will apply to the Athens-Lamias National Highway

Anti-skid chains for all vehicles and a traffic ban for heavy vehicles were decided by the police directors of the prefectures of Viotia, Evia, Fthiotida, Evrytania and Phocis, in view of the upcoming bad weather “Barbara”.

In more detail, the announcement they issued:

For special security reasons and for the purpose of avoiding causing traffic problems, in view of the occurrence of adverse weather phenomena, by Decisions of the Directors of the Police Departments of Boeotia, Evia, Evrytania, Fthiotida and Fokida, from 18.00 today 04.02.2023, the cars of all of the categories must be equipped with anti-skid chains or other similar anti-skid means, during their circulation on the entire road network of the above Prefectures.

In addition, from 18:00 today 04.02.2023, the traffic of any type of heavy vehicle, with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons, will not be allowed, regardless of the use of anti-skid chains as follows:

Prefecture of Boeotia

On the New National Highway of Athens – Lamia in both traffic streams, from the 56.728th road to the 121.250th road.
On the New Schimatari – Chalkida National Road in both traffic streams, from the 0.000th km/th to the 11.000th km/th.
On the Old Elefsina – Thebes National Highway in both traffic streams, from the 30,000th m/th to the 34,000th m/th.

Evia Prerfecture

On the New National Highway of Schimatari – Chalkida in both traffic streams, from the 11,000th km/h to the 0,000th km/h.

Prefecture of Fthiotida

On the New National Highway of Athens – Lamia in both traffic streams, from the 242.079th road to the 121.250th road (borders with Voiotia Province).
