The perpetrator tried to avoid the police but collided with another vehicle, resulting in his arrest
At arrest of a 27-year-old from North Macedonia, police officers of the Drug Enforcement Team of the Kilkis Security Department proceeded on Thursday near Polykastro Kilkis.
The result of the arrest was to prevent the importation of a large amount of cannabis into the country.
Specifically, the perpetrator was detected was driving a vehicle at noon on Thursday and at the signal of the police he sped up making dangerous maneuvers, as a result of which collide with a passing vehicle and become immobilized, resulting in material damage.
In a search of the vehicle he was driving, they were found and confiscated two bags containing a total of 40 packages with cannabis, with a total weight of 45 kg and 2 grams, which, as it turned out, he had received a little earlier from an inaccessible border area of Kilkis.
The above vehicle he was using was confiscated, as well as two mobile phones found in his possession.
The arrested person, with the case filed against him, will be taken to the Kilkis First Instance Prosecutor.
