The government is trying to deal with the severe “hit” of the pandemic, convincing as many citizens as possible to be vaccinated, implementing from today a series of new measures for the unvaccinated.

Control ladders scan restaurants in the center of Athens. The new measures came into force at 6 in the morning, making the lives of unvaccinated citizens much more difficult.

The police, the national transparency authority and the development department of the market control inter-unit will conduct a barrage of inspections throughout the weekend, supervising the observance of the measures, especially in shops and restaurants.

The new measures, however, have provoked a wave of reactions.

“Some stubborn anti-vaccines cause a problem, but honestly in the state of focus we want to eliminate any bad text to move forward,” says a catering businessman.

According to the joint ministerial decision, the vaccinated can enter food stores, pharmacies, gas stations, pet shops, laundries and tobacco shops without rapid test.
