In the modernization and energy upgrade of the building of its cultural uses European Cultural Center of Delphi the Ministry of Culture and Sports is proceeding rapidly, according to its announcement.

After the completion of the necessary studies, the Ministry of Culture and Sports included the implementation of the project, with a budget of 10,609,000 euros, in the resources of the Recovery Fund.

For the YPPOA, the European Cultural Center of Delphi, which is housed in the unique archaeological site of Delphi, plays an important role in international cultural events, acting as the navel of European culture. The inclusion of the project in the credits of the Recovery Fund ensures its completion, by the end of 2025, with a specific schedule. With the modernization of its structures and its energy upgrade, the European Center of Delphi will be an international venue for hosting high-quality cultural events, while at the same time it will also function as a development resource of the greatest interest, for the wide area,” stated, among other things, the Minister of Culture and Sports, Lina Mendoni, who warmly thanked Mrs. Dimitra Filippou, “thanks to her kind donation, the necessary studies were prepared for the maturation of the project».

The project will be completed in 2025, with the implementation body being the Department of Studies and Execution of Museums and Cultural Buildings of the Ministry of the Interior.

According to the project planning, the existing uses are maintained in the basement and ground floor of the building.

The premises are modernized and repaired in their entirety.

As for the amphitheater, it will remain with its current function, but modifying the arrangement of the seats and the position of the control room.

The new arrangement ensures the presence of more people, while at the same time new translation booths are being built to meet modern needs.

With the installation of a lift, the stage becomes completely accessible to the disabled.

Also, according to Ministry of Defenseall the elements of the load-bearing structure are reinforced with reinforced concrete and removals and removals are carried out on an extensive scale.

All of the stone structures on the ground floor are being reconstructed, the frames are being replaced. The floors are reconstructed and relaid.

To serve the disabled, an elevator is installed in the stairwell of the central entrance, as well as an elevator for the vertical communication of the spaces.

The sanitary areas are remodeled and the electromechanical facilities are modernized and energy upgraded.
