“Nothing predicted that Georgina would suffer a setback”

On the witness stand, at her trial Roulas Pispirigouin the Mixed Jury is the pediatrician of the Karamandanios hospital in Patras who receives a flurry of questions from the defendant’s lawyer.

The questions mainly concern her clinical picture Georgina during her hospitalization.

The pediatrician Ms. Iliopoulos she was asked about Georgina’s fever tithes, her pulse rate as well as the medications she was given and whether these could have side effects on the child.
Then the witness was asked how many times she examined the unfortunate girl and how many times she saw the accused.

Mrs. Iliopoulos testified that the reason for admission to the hospital was the child’s convulsions, while she claimed that Georgina underwent an encephalogram twice, which showed nothing.

Regarding the contraction suffered by the child, he said that “nothing foretold that Georgina would have a contraction”.

Characteristically, Ms. Iliopoulos he mentioned that “there are febrile spasms that last 1-2 minutes. But for the parents, it seems like ten minutes and the child comes back”
In response to the president’s question as to whether there was any finding from the blood tests the pediatrician answered no.
With regard to the interruption suffered by the little girl, pediatrician he said he found out when he was being resuscitated.

Then wanting to show the increased care the child received from doctors and nurses, he described Georgina “precious child” as, as she explained, her two siblings had disappeared.

Pispirigou’s advocate, addressing the pediatrician, said “she didn’t have flu, she didn’t have bronchopneumonia, she didn’t have pneumonia, so why was Georgina taking medicine?”, with the pediatrician replying that an episode “like aspiration” had occurred.
