Patras moves in carnival rhythms as we head towards the climax of the last three days. Thus, two regional carnival parades have been planned in Agyia and South Apartment, while the small spectacle for the Patronal Carnival of the “Olympionikis Patras” Sports Club, the street theater “A dose of carnival again!” from the Theatrical Workshop of DIPETHE Patras and the second performance of the SFIGCES group take over the artistic and entertainment part in the center of Patras.

“We’re out of business!” – 3rd Regional Carnival Parade

The Cultural Association of Agyia – Terpsithea with the support of KEDIP – Patras Carnival organizes the 3rd regional parade, on Thursday, February 23 at 7:00 p.m. from the Greek Poets Square (Kazantzakis) with the title “xepAGYIAsame!”.

The issue scorches the precision that leads households and businesses to turn off their switches and live in cold conditions in order to save electricity. With this title, the Cultural Association of Agyias – Terpsitheas invites everyone to wear “heavy”, carnival clothes. To dress stoves, radiators, water heaters. To bring snowshoes, blankets, snow chains and have fun together!

The program includes:

18.00 – 19.00: Thematic make-up of participants (white face – purple lips) in the hall of the KAPI Agyias & carnival music in the Greek Writers’ Square (Kazantzakis)
18.30: Gathering of participants and organizations in the square of Greek Poets (Kazantzakis)
19.00: Start of the carnival parade accompanied by a musical float, a self-illuminating float and the X-Saltibagos, following Kazantzakis and Notara streets.
20.00: End of carnival parade in De Miranda Square (Panachaikis) with X-Saltibagos in a Fire Show and free, hot tomato soup!
The action is also supported by the Social Organization of the Municipality of Patreon.

“The Boules went wild…in Zarouchleika: Carnival parade in the Southern District

As part of the program of events of the Patrinos Carnival 2023, on Thursday, February 23, a carnival parade will take place in the South Department with the theme “The Boules went out to paganism … in Zarouchleika!”.
The parade (start time: 18.00) will start from the 3rd GEL-3rd EPAL (Esperino) and will end at the Taraboura Workers’ Housing.

The disguised parade will be accompanied by a Children’s Carnival float and the Musical Float that will set the pace of the fun.

The parade will be accompanied by the Cultural Associations and the dance section of the P.O. of the Municipality of Patreon and Associations of Parents and Guardians of the area of ​​the South Apartment.

At the end of the parade there will be events.

Spectacle, dance, acrobatics, instrumental gymnastics by “Olympionikis Patras” Sports Club

The “Olympionikis Patras” Sports Club will leave its mark on the Patron Carnival on Thursday, February 23 at 7:45 p.m. in Georgiou Square.

The “Olympian of Patras” with the participation of 25 female athletes will present the spectacle of dance, acrobatics and instrumental gymnastics “Patrino Carnival” which had given the group the third place at the Gymnastics Festival in Athens, which was held last June.
The short spectacle will be followed by a party in Georgiou A’ square.

“A dose of Carnival again!!!”: Street theater from the Theater Workshop of DI.PE.THE. Patras

On Thursday, February 23 at 8pm in Georgiou A’ Square, the Theater Workshop of DI.PE.THE. Patras will present us the street theater “A dose of Carnival again!!!”.

The teenagers (16-19 years old) of the Theater Workshop of DI.PE.THE. Patras express themselves creatively and always theatrically, and this Carnival! What does Carnival mean? Why is it our organic need? How much does it affect our lives and above all… why? What would life be like without it? Without … Carnival???

Lila, our little merman, wasn’t little anymore. But not a big one either. One day as she was carrying a huge grain of wheat, wanting to prove to everyone – but mostly to herself – that she can do it, a familiar purpose suddenly entered her lips…

He had grown up and knew! How the seeds become lighter when you have previously bathed a little in the light with those who love songs and dances!

“The Sphinxes on the stairs”

On Thursday, February 23 at 8:30 p.m. on the stairs of Gerokostopoulou, the elite group SFIGKES presents for the second time the carnival music and dance extravaganza entitled “The SFIGKES on the stairs”. The event is organized by the Region of Western Greece with the support of KEDIP-Patra Carnival.

It is a brand new performance by the active group with the director’s stamp and a selection of sketches by Victoria Angelopoulou. The show consists of 10 music and dance sketches, excerpts from old Greek cinema. The texts between the sketches are written by Jimi Politis, who will also be the presenter of the evening together with Katerina Tsoukala.

30 people are participating, including “SfigKEs”, friends of the Carnival and a group of percussionists led by Nikos Forlidas.
