A film theft, starring an… unlucky perpetrator, who ultimately left empty-handed, took place on Sunday afternoon in a 53-year-old woman’s jewelry store, on Riga Feraiu Street, in Patras.

According to EL.AS sources, the perpetrator climbed using an aluminum ladder, from the back of the ceramic roof, to the jewelry store in question.

He then removed some tiles and with a sharp object made a hole in the interior false ceiling, through which he entered it.

With quick movements he emptied the display cases, grabbing 109 watches, 7 watch straps and a pen with a total value of 150,000 euros. But he did not stop there, as he also grabbed chains, earrings, rings and necklaces made of precious metals, the value of which has not yet been determined.

During his action, the alarm went off and employees of the security company rushed to the scene, who spotted him at the time of his escape. Although, as mentioned, they tried to immobilize him, they did not succeed, but they were able to and took the backpack in which he had put the above stolen items, so that despite his…effort, he left empty-handed.

Everything that was in the backpack was attributed to the 53-year-old owner and a case was filed against the perpetrator, who is being sought, by the Patras Security Sub-Directorate, for aggravated theft.
