“While we see the death toll rise, we express our sincere condolences to the people of Greece for the tragic loss of human animals in the train accident that happened during the night in Tempe. So far 36 dead and 85 injured have been reported, making it the deadliest train accident in Greek history.
We send our heartfelt condolences to the families of those lost and our best wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured. This was the message of the Foreign Minister to his Greek counterpart when they spoke on the phone. The US stands with our friend Greece, and salute the courage of the rescuers, who work tirelessly to save the lives of the injured.” Ned Price reports.
