A 24-hour strike for tomorrow Thursday, due to the fatal accident in Tempi, unanimously decided by the Panhellenic Federation of Railways (POS).

Already at noon on Wednesday (1/3) there had been a suspension of all routes throughout the country.

The announcement of POS

“The Board of Directors of the Panhellenic Federation of Railways and Fixed Track Vehicles as well as the Managements of all the Primary Unions operating in the Hellenic Railways, in their extraordinary meeting held today, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, UNANIMOUSLY decided to declare a 24-hour strike on Thursday, March 02, 2023 of all staff employed by all railway companies.

Now the pain has become anger for the dozens of dead and wounded colleagues and our fellow citizens.

The disrespect shown by the Governments over time to the Greek Railways led to the tragic result of Tempi.

Unfortunately, our constant requests for the recruitment of permanent staff, better training, but above all the implementation of modern security technologies, are permanently thrown into the wastebasket.

Today the Railway family is poorer.

Today Greece is poorer.

The next day is a day of reflection and mourning for our lost colleagues.

Tomorrow 02/3/2023, there will be an extraordinary meeting of the P.O.S. and of its Member Associations on the 9th floor of the OSE building (Karolou 1-3) at 10:00 am”.
