The possibility for every driver who parks in Athens to schedule, through the application “myAthenspass”, the start of his parking, even outside the opening hours of the controlled parking, in order to be activated automatically at the beginning (at 9 am) , gives from today the Municipality of Athens. This is a significant digital upgrade, which ensures the legality of parking in the center and neighborhoods of Athens, and therefore the avoidance of fines by the Municipal Police.
With the application “myAthensPass” developed by the Development Company of Computerization and Informatics of the Municipality of Athens (DAEM SA) the driver – user of the application has the ability to quickly and reliably buy parking time for his vehicle from wherever is located, via the mobile phone.
What are the six steps to using the application
Installation: Look for “myAthensPass” in the Play Store for Android devices (http://bit.ly/googleplayMAP) or in the App Store for iOS devices (http://bit.ly/appstoreMAP) and install it on your smartphone.
Registration and login: Follow the instructions and fill in the information you will be asked to create your account.
Add a shopping card: In the “wallet” menu, enter your bank card details (debit, credit or prepaid).
Buy a ticket: Buy the desired amount (from € 0.5 to € 20).
Activate parking: Locate your location on the map, select the parking time (30 ‘- 180’), enter the license plate number of your vehicle (Greek or international) without a space or a hyphen and activate your parking.
Just 10 minutes before the end of the parking time, you will be informed by the application with notification, so that you can renew it with a single move, in case you wish.
Today, more than 100,000 drivers use the “myAthensPass” application, in order to buy online parking time in one of the 3,500 locations of the controlled parking zones of the Municipality of Athens. On a daily basis, through the application, more than 3,000 parks are recorded.
It is noted that the opening hours of the controlled parking are from Monday – Friday 09:00 – 21:00 and Saturday 09:00 – 16:00.
