Hellenic Train issued a new announcement after the tragic accident in Tempi, informing that does not intend to trigger the exemption for the payment of compensation for the victims of the fatal train collision.

Hellenic Train’s announcement in detail:

Sharing the national mourning in which the whole country has plunged and with absolute respect for the passengers of train 62, the injured and the relatives of those who died in the tragic accident of 28.2.2023, Hellenic Train S.A.:

• Ensures full compliance with current European legislation in all necessary actions, so that the relatives of the deceased, the injured and the passengers of train IC 62 of 28.02.2023 are fully satisfied in terms of their relevant rights based on articles 11 and 13 of EC 1371/2007

• It states that it is and will remain at the disposal of relatives of the victims for any support it can provide. It goes without saying that we will continue to provide all assistance with all our powers to all competent authorities to clarify the causes of this tragic accident.
