Crowds of believers at the exit procession of Metropolitan Kosmas – They shouted “Saint”

The outgoing entourage of the blessed metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania, the venerable Kosmas, sang today at noon in the metropolitan church of Agios Spyridon, in Messolonghi. At the exit procession, during which the provisions for the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus were observed, the metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios, Hierotheos, co-sponsors of the metropolitans, Piraeus, Seraphim and Mesogaia, and Lavreotiki, officiated.

Funeral speeches were delivered by the Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios, Hierotheos, who represented the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Ieronymos, the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, Bishop of Oreon, Philotheos, the Vice-Chancellor Me Costas Lyros. Also, the first council of the metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania, archimandrite, Epifanios Karageorgos, spoke.

The procession was also attended by metropolitans, deputies and mayors of Etoloakarnania, representatives of the military authorities, clergy and others.

Outside the sanctuary of St. Spyridon, a military procession paid tribute, while a large number of believers had gathered outside the temple to say their last goodbyes to the blessed metropolitan shouting “Saint”. In fact, some of them did not wear masks, while during the procession outside the church there was a crowd.

The burial of the blessed metropolitan, the venerable Kosmas, will take place after his own wish, according to an announcement of the metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania, in the holy monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin, Myrtia Trichonidas.
