With a negative rapid test, all workers with coronavirus, vaccinated and unvaccinated, can get sick leave from work, as explained by the Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris in today’s briefing of the Ministry of Health on the reopening of schools.
At the same time, he confirmed the information for changes in the issuance of the disease certificate, for which the relevant Joint Ministerial Decision (JMC) is expected. “Increased cases are forcing us to change the way the disease certificate is issued.” In this context, he stated that the vaccinated can be absent from work with a positive rapid test, while the unvaccinated workers should confirm the positive rapid test with PCR.
Mr. Plevris pointed out that the Omicron mutation is now predominant in our country, however the pressure on the National Health System is observed mainly in emergencies and in simple beds.
In this context, he announced that an agreement has been reached with the Association of Greek Clinics, which will allocate 10% -15% of its beds for Covid cases, while he reminded that there is already cooperation with private clinics and ICUs for non Covid cases.
