The woman was noticed by animal lovers in the neighborhood who immediately informed the police
An elderly woman in Volos crossed the threshold of the Magnesia Police Department on Tuesday morning, when she was spotted throwing four kittens into a garbage can.
The incident took place on Magniton Street in Volos, with the woman being noticed by animal lovers in the neighborhood who immediately informed the police.
The elderly woman was taken to the Police Department, where they arrested her and took the newborns with them in order to hand them over to animal lovers to take care of their survival. For the perpetrator, the self-indictment process will follow and the case will go to court as a felony.
The animal welfare group, through a post on social networks, thanked the Commander of the Magnesia Police Department, Mr. Balatsoukas, the Police Officer responsible for the abuse of strays, Mr. Vlontzos, as well as all the staff who took care of the babies until a volunteer came to pick them up. Until further notice, they will be hosted by a volunteer.
“The police acted immediately with all the procedures as stipulated by the law. We hope that the babies will make it because they are blindfolded”, emphasizes the Volos Philanthropic Group.
