The Digital Labor Card is also extended to DEKOs, with the first phase of application to DEKOs in the field of public utility, which cover the vast majority of the number of employees.

Following the relevant statement of the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and after consultation with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announces that the Digital Labor Card is extended to the following DEKOs:

• OSE SA
• WORK
• Fixed Communications SA
• OSY
• OASA
• OSETH
• OASTH
• Attica metro
• Building Infrastructures SA
• Egnatia Odos SA
• EYDAP
• ELTA

In these businesses it was decided to include Hellenic Train and the Hellenic Railway Equipment Maintenance Company in order to uniformly address the issues related to the workers in the railway network of the country.

The time horizon for the application of the Digital Work Card in the above businesses is a monthi.e. until the end of April, while the rest of the DEKOs will follow in the second year.

It is noted that companies active in the field of energy will join when industry joins this system in the next phase.

With the Digital Work Card, the recording of the employees’ hours is shielded and – at the same time – their presence at the workplace is certified in an unmistakable way and with technological tools that facilitate the immediate detection of any violations and false statements either on the part of the companies, or by the workers’ side.

Kostis Hatzidakis: Transparency and fairness in employer-employee relations

“The Digital Work Card is a change that brings transparency and fairness to employer-employee relations. The beginning has already been made by banks, supermarkets, security companies, insurance companies. Now we are also moving forward with DEKO.

What was found after the Tempe tragedy, i.e. stationmasters who were absent from their positions, the infamous “blancos”, etc., lead us to the conclusion that we must immediately proceed in this direction. All of us, State, employers, employees must respect the rules”.

It is recalled that the Digital Work Card has already been implemented since last summer in banks and supermarkets, while in February it was extended to the branches of insurance companies and security companies. It had already been announced the extension of the measure to DEKOs, which is now being implemented, while industry, tourism and restaurants are to follow.

More than 150,000 workers are employed in the sectors where the Digital Labor Card is already applied, while the workers in DEKOs to which the measure is immediately extended are approximately 18,000.

The Digital Work Card includes the myErgani mobile app that employees “download” to their mobile phone and the Ergani CardScanner app for businesses, which “reads” at the start and end of work the employees’ Digital Cards and automatically transmits in real time the information in the P.S. ERGANI II.

In the coming days, meetings will be held with the managements of the companies that are part of the Digital Work Card system and the representatives of the employees in order to be informed about the new procedures that will be applied when the employees arrive and leave the workplaces.
